The Governor's Blog

Jim Doyle (Dem.), the Governor of Wisconsin is blogging his trip to China:

Today was a great day in Beijing. We started with a briefing by the U.S. Embassy staff and the U.S. Commercial Service, who informed our Wisconsin businesspeople about the challenges and opportunities presented by trade with China. They gave valuable advice about how businesses can find a market for their products in China, and what pitfalls they may want to look out for.

I had no clue that he was starting a blog. I wonder if he's writing it himself. It doesn't sound very personal and it gives general information. At least there are some pictures. :-/

I think he's the governing guy first and the human being second. And I imagine staff is drafting his stuff. But the good news is that he's blogging and that within some "public figure" limits he's using the medium to communicate at a level that's not all that "official." And truth is often inversely proportional to the officialness of the utterance. I think.
