A Maria Muldaur Moment...
Scott (blogging at Lazycoder) comments at Burningbird...
All I can think whenever I See Dave talk about retiring from blogging or Scoble talking about how he should quit blogging is, “How can I miss you if you won’t go away?”

"the yutz"
...a remake of Steve Martin's fantastic comedy, "The Jerk."
It's funny, I just made a temporizing comment at McD's McBlog about Dave. The comments at Rogers Cadenhead's seem better informed somehow.

Time Goes By
I'm guest blogging at Ronni Bennett's Time Goes By today. Check it out for some of my most pedantic and humorless BS ever. I'm always embarrassed when I post this kind of thing here. Imagine how embarrassed I get when it's someone else's blog I'm polluting. Nevertheless, check it out... unlike the other guest bloggers she tapped while she's in Austin, my single qualification is that I'm older than dirt.

Once more into the breach, dear friends...
Again this morning I got suckered into reading blogs instead of working on my own stuff. I am weak. Brian is working out advertising keyword issues. Doc was photographed in his media whore shirt. Betsy Devine is one for two in her choice of woman bloggers to lionize. Jeneane: bass in luggage, no pizza, no bat. Dave had a dream. Fresh content at Dervala's, read it and weep oh you who would think yourselves good writers and creative. Golby has linked to one of my posts, bless his huge South African heart! Halley's last update followed Santino's crushing defeat, of which she adroitly avoids any mention, babbling charmingly instead about how great it is that people make things. Not that Chloe isn't great, and any comparison between her work and overstuffed couches and easy chairs is just sour grapes I'm sure. David is going on about eBook ubiquity, which reminds me that I am still waiting for my flying car and personal jetpack.
...and Dean deconstructs the Film Strip International mashup of their work with Jim's Big Ego's ad hominem anthem re. anal sphincters.
...and Chris shares a Chautauqua moment.
Steve Rubel says, "We all are gatekeepers depending on where the news thread starts."

Five Dancing Monkeys - Crimes of Fashion
I love it when the Levy/Mooney clan goes on a tear about bullshit anti-feminist anti-feminine behavior in the blogosphere and the world beyond. Today's arch observations regarding a recent "Misbehaving" post had me rolling in the aisle. Call me a heel for encouraging her, but Madame Levy is at her best when she's calling the poseurs on their bullshit. She doesn't tiptoe around. Among the things that make the post so wonderful is the use of neologism by JMo in her comment: Hinder-net!!
I think it's mildly disgusting I'm more offended by fashion then their rampant misuse for their femmetechbot slash and burn techniques across the hinder-net.
Manolo? Are those pointy toes still a thing? They look so very last year. Might as well wear Uggs. But, check out the kicks on Mary Kate here. This is one techno fashion bee-atch, No-F#@*ing-Sjit. I'll bet she has cellular tech in that bindle too!
Lift06... keeping women in-step in the technosphere, and making them taller too! A benefit of surfage following Madame L.s links into the nether world of early-seventies-cracked-femme-concern that is Misbehaving was this:
We make money not art... So from the "what's last year" shoes of Lift06 to the Russ Meyer sound track retrospective offered up by Regine, it was a very good morning.

Niek Hockx takes a break...
The world's smallest mammal is hibernating. Join me in a prayer to Saint Eugenie for its rested return. We could see it coming in the titles of recent clogs...
The winter of blogger discontent...
Blog Prison, wherein the shutterclogger spoke of the boring nature of the form, with emphasis on template dominated design.
Shutterclog Sunset, and
So we'll go no more a blogging.
Niek's experienced a serious bout of bad health recently, and I think he's feeling disconnected from the community that nurtured him for so many years. If he feels it's time to ring down the curtain on Shutterclog, well... all shows must close. I hope you don't stay away too long, friend.
On a lighter note, while some blogs' vital signs are depressed, and others have gone the way of all blogs, Abe Vigoda lives.

Howdy Doody Buffalo Blogs!
My friend in Niagara Falls, David Rosenwasser, sent me page 231 of the Buffalo Spree Magazine detailing the revelry at the second annual Buffalo BloggerCon, held in January. Ironically, the Spree Magazine blog is down, so I wasn't able to visit the promised links from that article - I just had to do my own blog-stalking thing. Ran into a lot of nice bloggers who know each other, and work together and link to each other in a communitarian scene that we haven't quite managed in Madison yet.
Here's Taggers Tagged... link courtesy Alan Bendenko, the Buffalo Pundit.
Here's Buffalo Rising, an online news-daily-blog.
And Alex (not so much a Buffalonian) Halavais might have been there if we wasn't in NY City.
I had to check out Erin Go Blog because, well... you know, clever word play and all. Erin linked to David Torke of fix buffalo who provides a further scaling of the Buffalo Blog scene.
