Last night the tornado sirens in neighboring bedroom communities were blaring and I walked out on the land in bright sunshine. I walked down to the end of the windbreak and looked north across the field. I saw yellow clouds fading to a black wall of storm front. Since the danger is generally out of the southwest, I felt secure enough to ignore the sirens. While I was on the lake lawn (with my little dog too!) looking north, some fool in a boat to the east of us snapped this picture, looking west. That's my place, the place in the sunshine. The yellow sky was immediately bnorth of us and beyond that a black wall of storm clouds formed. Invigorating!
When the tornado sirens went off in our neighborhood it was only a little cloudy and people were still outside minding their business. It was only later in the evening when the funnel touched down near by; no sirens were blaring. No damage to our area, but when I was coming home today several trees had limbs broken off.
