Dave Winer is willing to sit in the audience at Mix06 and listen politely to Bill Gates and Tim O'Reilly as they debate. Following a discussion of speaker fees Dave suggests there should be audience fees. He says,
... they asked me to come to this conference, but I resisted...
If they want me to come, the price is $100,000 plus expenses. And I'll sit there with my hands folded and be a good boy and applaud in all the right places and smile when they say that RSS is nice.
I'm guessing that if they took him up on it, he would have to return the $100,000. No way could he listen to those two without putting in his two cents $100,000 worth.
i'd be silent for a year for 100 grand. (no relation)

does being silent include blogging ? It's only text-based *voice* after all.
