Don't get me wrong. Franklin D. is the man. But the part about "all citizens" needs to be broadened so that our friends and neighbors who live here in hopes of one day being full citizens are granted the rights we take for granted.

I've got no problem with the sentiment but .. they've got to contribute to the society and assimilate with the parent culture.
I don't want the immigrant's parent culture to disapear - where would we be without St. Patrick and his blessed day of drunkedness? - but you gotta throw yourself into the melting pot. No culture long survives with enclaves of non-assimlated foreigners. Ask the Mexicans what happened when they brought Austin's Anglos in to act as a buffer against the Commanche ...
